SWP Resignation (UPDATED)
(This is an updated version, I never got around to officially informing the CC in January so have sent this today to ensure it is 100% official.)
I joined the SWP to fight for socialism & women’s liberation whilst fighting against racism, homophobia and attacks on people from an establishment set out on exploitation. The way the DC case of Comrade Delta has been dealt with, is not consistent to these principles & the restrictions which were been put in place to shut down debate meant the only viable way of rejecting this is to leave.
This self-protecting, uncritical attitude is a renowned bureaucratic behaviour; I believe socialist organizations should put the compassionate, fair treatment of people, both internally and externally, at the forefront of the way they operate. Without this grounding, the focus narrow focus of meeting goals may inadvertently lead to people getting hurt, which I believe most people want to avoid.
It is because of these self-serving acts, the lack of critical awareness, contemptuous attitudes and bullying behaviour towards those in opposition, who attempted to challenge behaviours which go against what the SWP is supposed to stand for, I left the SWP in January.
The bureaucratic behaviour of the SWP in this case also threatens to undermine progress the left as a whole could make on issues such as cuts, sexism and racism so it is for this reason staying in the SWP felt disingenuous and politically dangerous.
True compassion, is more than flinging a coin to a beggar. It comes to see that an edifice which produces beggars needs restructuring.

Political Spectrum Quiz
Woohoo! So far-left it’s almost off the scale.
We all have our vices. And we can all decide what we are willing to stomach - if we didn’t want sexist, racist, transphobic, heterosexist, fatphobic, disablist, classist material to be in our media, we would literally have to stop consuming all media. Yet that does not mean that when our so-called allies fuck up, just because they’ve been good in the past, they are free from the criticism we regularly lob at people we don’t consider our allies.
What on earth does all the talk about “fighting capitalism” mean, if the forms of alienation that hold capitalism together are reproduced in “revolutionary” organisations?
war kills people from the inside out sometimes
“In war, there are no unwounded soldiers.”
i think i’ve posted this before but it’s so powerful
SWP resignation
Following on from the handling of the recent rape allegations, I am leaving the Socialist Worker’s Party.

I intend to stay involved with political activism however it feels disingenuous now, to do this as part of the SWP.
